about
My Furniture Sucks explores how suction cups can challenge the permanence of furniture. Stainless steel sheets are connected through removable suction cups, creating a modular system that can be assembled and reconfigured without tools or permanent joints.
Chosen for its strength, durability, and compatibility with suction cups, stainless steel provides a sturdy structure while allowing the connections to remain temporary. Through experimenting with different suction cup sizes, I developed a system in which the same panels can be rearranged into different forms and functions, from a chair to a table.
Rather than fixing furniture to a single purpose, the system invites users to take it apart, adapt it, and rebuild it.
